Navratri 2023

Navratri is a nine-day festival dedicated to Goddess Durga and her nine forms.

Based on the Hindu lunar calendar, it will be held from March 22 to March 31, 2023.

Navratri means "nine nights," and it symbolises the triumph of good over evil and the power of feminine energy.

During this festival, devotees worship different aspects of Goddess Durga, such as Shailputri, Brahmacharini, Chandraghanta, Kushmanda, Skandamata, Katyayani, Kalaratri, Mahagauri, and Siddhidatri.

They also fast and eat sattvik food, which doesn't include things like meat, eggs, onions, garlic, or alcohol.

Navratri is celebrated with much fervour across India with different regional customs and rituals.

The ninth day of Navratri coincides with Ram Navami, the birthday of Lord Rama.
